It is a fact, that Google is no longer the only game in town for traffic and leads. It is still a vital part of the equation, but it is a fact that a tremendous amount of web traffic is to be found on video sharing sites and other social media platforms.

Over three years ago, our company set out to help small businesses take advantage of what we anticipated was going to become a ‘killer app’ online, that was marketing with videos.

Why an Online Application?

We created an affordable desktop video and social bookmarking submission tool, called Video Wildfire, and later developed the original Content Buzz, which added more modes, like image sharing sites, micro-blog platforms, RSS Aggregators and Feeder blogs, to become a complete Video and ‘Content Marketing’ submission tool.

However, there were inherent problems with the desktop applications, that prevented us from becoming the perfect submission and link building tool. The main ones were, that people with slow internet connections were at a real disadvantage, and that the submissions to the Social Bookmarking sites were only to the accounts that they had created, so the REAL power of these sites could not be unleashed.

So, earlier this year, we decided to develop the submission service as an ‘online’ application, and develop a link building service, whereby each network member could promote the ‘links’ of other network members. The new Content Buzz was born, giving our subscribers the simplest and fastest submission and link building tool imaginable!

So what is Content Buzz?

...Well, Content Buzz comprises of Three main elements...

The Online Application is where you control your Social Profiles, your Video and other Content Submissions, and your Link Building Activities.

The Content Buzzer, which is the Desktop component of the system. Think of it as your ‘remote controlled automation tool’. Once installed on your computer, it has two functions... To create accounts for you on the video sharing sites and other platforms, and to submit Bookmarks and RSS feeds on behalf of the other members of the Content Buzz Network......

And the third element, the Content Buzz Central Servers, which perform the content submissions, and allocate all the Link Building tasks for the network members.

How does it work?

This diagram explains how the Online Application interacts with the online servers, and the Content Buzzers, which are installed on your, and the other network members’ computers.

In a minute I will explain how you interact with the system.

As I described earlier, there are three basic tasks involved. Creating accounts on all the sites, submitting your videos etc. and setting up link building campaigns.

If you follow the arrows, you’ll see that if you use our account creation tool, the actual joining process is done on Your Content Buzzer.

The content to the Video sharing sites, the Image sharing sites, the Social Story or News sites, the Micro-blog platforms and the Feeder blogs, are submitted to your accounts. Other network members do not have access to them.

You’ll see, that it is just the Social Bookmarking and the RSS Aggregator accounts that are shared by all the network members, via Content Buzz, where they add bookmarks and RSS feeds of Your content to their accounts and you do the same for them.

What does Content Buzz do for You, the video marketer?

Well, basically, it takes your ‘promotional video’, and creates one almighty buzz for it, across all the most ‘influential’ sites on the Internet!

A well-made video is one that defines a problem or desire that your ‘target audience’ is experiencing, and explains how your product or service provides the solution to it . If you ‘optimize’ it with your ‘target keywords’, you’re ready to rumble!

You can see on the diagram, that you need to upload your video, and, if you wish, some images or screenshots, and add the metadata for the submission into the Content Buzz submission manager. There is a wizard to walk you through the procedure. At this stage, you decide where you want to send your traffic to. This ‘Target URL’ can be an optin page, one of your business blog posts or a ‘money’ page. Your choice.

The first thing that we do is to submit your video to your YouTube account. We wait for them to publish it, and then grab the URL of the actual YouTube page that the video plays on.

This is vital to the system. As a first step, we promote this URL for you on the Image sharing sites, the Social Story sites and the Micro-blog platforms, giving your video an immediate announcement.

The second step, is to create a ‘bookmark’ for you, and create a campaign for the video in our Link Building manager. Other network members will now start promoting the video to their social bookmarking accounts. We automatically add the submission to one of their RSS aggregator accounts as well, giving you two backlinks for the price of one.

All this traffic will go to view your YouTube video.

The next part of the promotion, is to send your video to all the top, marketer-friendly, Video sharing sites, and if you have selected them, the How-to video sites and your Feeder blog accounts. So the traffic generated from all the sites arrives at the ‘Target URL’ that you designated in the submission wizard.

These submissions are staggered over a few days, to give you plenty of exposure to the new Real Time Search algorithms in Google, Bing and Yahoo.

As you can see, you’ve now got a huge, ever increasing web of links back to your YouTube video, and whatever target URL you entered into the system.

Backlinks, which, as you probably know, are the most important element of any professional search engine optimization strategy.

I’m sure you can appreciate the power and ingenuity of this system. As far as I know, no other company takes the trouble to promote every video you submit as comprehensively as Content Buzz.

Content Buzz Link Building Manager

Social Bookmarking and RSS Aggregation, are both built on the concept of ‘favourites’. The bookmarking sites are where you can save the links to your favourite web pages online. RSS aggregators, similarly, are where you can save your favourite RSS feeds online.

They both publish the title, description, link and tags of each piece of content that you submit, giving you very powerful backlinks...

Social Bookmarking

Social Bookmarking has long been an extremely powerful strategy used by marketers to: gain visibility for their business online; achieve top Search Engine Rankings for their targeted keywords; attract highly motivated prospects to their offers, and to brand themselves or their business.

The biggest problem that marketers have had with traditional Social Bookmarking software, is that the submissions, even though they could have multiple accounts, were always from the same IP address which could easily be picked up by the individual sites and Google. This really diluted the desired effect.

It was also necessary to mix up your own bookmarks with those of others, so that the account didn’t look like complete spam. This obviously was very time consuming.

RSS Aggregators

More recently, RSS Aggregators have gained prominence in the savvy online marketers’ bag of link building tools. Basically, they accept your favourite RSS feeds, and then each time the feed is updated (i.e. you add more content), the aggregator sites automatically publish them for Google and your prospects to find.
